Six-Week Group Program — $199

Our core program for beginners, ages 6 and up. Six one-hour sessions, one per week, with a maximum of six students in each class.

Small classes are the whole point. Six kids means the coach corrects your child by name instead of shouting instructions at a crowd. Over six weeks they'll go from never having stood on a board to riding with real confidence.

Weeks 1–2 — Stance and balance, how to fall safely, and the first push Weeks 3–4 — Rolling, turning, carving, and stopping on command Weeks 5–6 — Riding comfortably, tic-tacs, kickturns, and the start of an ollie

Boards, helmets, and pads are provided for every session, so there's nothing to buy to get started. We film milestones along the way and send you the clip of your kid's first push and first trick.

Siblings are $179 each. Ages 6 and up.

Our guarantee: if your child can't ride, push, and turn confidently by the last session, they keep skating with us at no extra cost until they can.

Private Lessons — $85 per hour, less when you book ahead

One-on-one coaching for any age and any level. Ages 3 and up.

  • Single session — $85 — one hour, the easiest way to try it or get unstuck on something specific
  • 4-session pack — $280 — $70 an hour, and where most people see real progress
  • 8-session pack — $520 — $65 an hour, our best rate, and the pack that comes with our guarantee

Private lessons are built around you. Beginners start with the fundamentals — balance, falling safely, pushing, rolling, stopping. From there, we build the sessions around whatever you actually want: cruising comfortably around town, dropping in, riding a bowl, learning to ollie, or getting back what you had at seventeen. Tell your coach the goal and we'll map the sessions to it.

Sessions are scheduled around you, evenings and weekends included, and typically run at Scalzi Park in Stamford. Little ones under six get shorter, play-based sessions with a parent present.

Guarantee on the 8-pack: if you can't ride, push, and turn confidently by the end of your eight sessions, we'll keep working with you at no extra cost until you can.

Adult Skateboard Lessons

Plenty of our students are adults, and they get taught one-on-one — no class, no audience, no eight-year-olds watching you learn. Maybe you skated at fifteen and stopped. Maybe you bought a board during lockdown and it's been in the closet since. Maybe you just want to cruise without feeling like you're about to eat pavement.

Adults learn slower than kids but listen far better, and it evens out. We teach people from their twenties into their fifties.

Vert and Transition Coaching

Once you can ride, push, turn, and stop, ramps are the next frontier. Our coaching staff includes a vert specialist who teaches drop-ins, pumping, carving transition, rock to fakie, and axle stalls.

We don't put anyone on transition before they're ready — every student is screened first, and progression happens on the coach's judgment, not on request. That's not us being cautious for the sake of it. It's how people learn ramps without getting hurt.

Starter Setup — $300

When you're ready for your own board, we build complete setups in the shop: a deck sized to the rider, trucks, wheels, bearings, a helmet, and knee and elbow pads, assembled and gripped by hand. Gear is provided free during lessons, so this is entirely optional — buy it when you know it's going to stick.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age can kids start skateboarding lessons? Our six-week group program is for ages 6 and up. Private lessons start at age 3 — younger children get shorter, play-based sessions with a parent present.

Does my child need their own skateboard? No. Boards, helmets, and pads are provided at every session. Plenty of families wait until week three or four to buy anything, once they're sure it's going to stick.

What size skateboard should a beginner get? Most kids start on an 8.0" deck. Teens up to about six feet do well on an 8.25", and taller riders go 8.5" or wider. We'll size you properly in the shop when you're ready to buy.

Is skateboarding safe for kids? Helmets are required and provided. Every session begins with a gear check, we teach falling before we teach speed, and instruction is supervised throughout. Scraped knees happen — that's what the pads are for.

Am I too old to learn to skateboard? No. We teach adults from their twenties into their fifties. Adults progress differently than kids — slower on balance, faster on instruction — and most are riding comfortably within a handful of sessions.

What if my kid isn't athletic? Skateboarding rewards persistence more than athleticism, which is exactly why it works for kids who bounced off team sports. There's no bench and nobody gets picked last.

Where do the lessons take place? Group classes and private sessions typically run at Scalzi Park in Stamford, with some sessions at the shop in Stamford Town Center. We'll confirm the location when you book.

What should I wear? Flat-soled sneakers and clothes you don't mind scuffing. We provide the helmet and pads.

What if we miss a week? Tell us and we'll fit you into another session that week when there's room. Life happens.

Do you offer skateboard lessons near Norwalk, Greenwich, or Darien? Yes — we're a short drive from all three and teach students from across Fairfield County at our Stamford locations.
